the healthcare debate is eating my soul
this healthcare BS makes me sick, because I don’t even understand what all the fuss is about, and how this relates to Hitler, or fascism, or communism -
for fuck’s sake, I came to America to escape the evils of Communism! My aunt was born early because my grandma went in labor after seeing the Soviet tanks roll back into Hungary! And I am talking about the tanks of 1956- after the citizens, including children and grandmothers kicked those soviets out with their hunting rifles, pitchforks and rocks, only to have those damn commies come back ten-fold to slaughter SLAUGHTER SLAUGHTER them-
These natural born citizens have no clue as to what they are talking about! They don’t even know their freedoms, their wonderful lives with plots of land and their own houses where they can fend off intruders and cops without warrents, where they can grow their own food if they wished, and the government doesn’t take a third, or half of their taxes. These citizens that can say whatever they want, print and talk about what ever they damn well please without fear of some secret police coming in the night to rape their wives and slit their children’s throats.
I wonder if the green party in Iran, the ones that were imprisoned for protesting, and subsequently tortured and raped, think these white folks gathering in DC are joking. What kind of example are we setting as a democracy for the rest of the world? No amount of crazy (not even 700,000+) will give you any amount of sanity.
….
back to healthcare-
One of the first times I went to Hungary, when I was a little girl, I got very very sick with some stomach flu that was going around. I vomited everything, including water. I was taken to the doctor the next day, and given medicine. It was painless. I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg. I almost want to say it was free- (Free? What, FREE?), but come on, that would only happen in a dream world, right? No way Europe would have that, and the US wouldn’t, not even for its own citizens. I got treated because I was sick, and Hungary was all like “hey, we don’t like sick people! Don’t worry about it! we’ve got your back! yeah! we love treating the sick!”- I wasn’t waiting in the ER for an hour or trying to placate a pissy receptionist because I didn’t have an appointment.
Let’s just say it was cheap, pleasant, and effective- an experience I have yet to have happen to me in the US. And I’ve been to the hospital for a variety of reasons, births, families with cancer or other life-threatening problems, and myself in the ER (with a gaping hole in my chest) after being doored by a car while riding my bike to work. Nothing as simple, quick, and painless as that experience in a country less than 10 years out of communism.
Oh, wait- I hear rich people in the US have great healthcare… maybe they have a great experience every time. That is unfortunate - I am not a rich person in this country.
How did the rich people convince the poor to protest for them?
…Glen Beck is a great cult leader. He should start his own religion. He would make more money and have more immediate power. I want to see him get even more outrageous on that tall platform of his.
this is the video that got my panties in a bunch. It’s SOOOO hot on digg right now so you know it’s good.
